Geraldine Barger

Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL, on May 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. with the Celebration of Life following. Emmitt Smith will be the presiding clergy.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Lee, along with her grandchildren, Jason Alsobrooks and Buck Barger, and great-grandchildren Allura Brantley, Cater and Emma Alsobrooks, Elisabeth Jr., Austin, Caroline, Tretyn Barger, and Bethany Young. Great-grandchildren Trisha, Nevaeh, Ezra, and Lettie Young, Harper, and Tre Barger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Barger; son Wayne Barger; grandson Mark Alsobrooks; granddaughter April Barger; and great-grandson Dillen Alsobrooks

Geraldine was born in 1942 in Cottondale, AL. She later married the love of her life, Jerry Barger, in 1958 and welcomed their first child, Wayne Barger, in 1959, and their second child, Gloria Lee, in 1960.

She attended the First United Pentecostal Church for over 40 years.

Geraldine was the manager of the Salvation Army for 25 years until her early retirement to care for her husband. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who kept her busy and young at heart.

She was the most godly woman we ever knew and was the backbone of the family. We all will deeply miss her.

She is pain-free and rejoicing in Heaven!!
