

Geraldine (Geri) Deloughery, age 68, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on December 25, after celebrating Christmas with her family. A visitation to remember her life will be held 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Prevost Bloomer and Dorothy “Minnie” Bloomer; and sister, Loretta Bloomer. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tom Deloughery; children Col Cheryl Deloughery (USAF) and Dr. Kathleen Deloughery; three grandchildren, Lauren Lauer, Andrew Lauer and Anna Hensley; brother, Harry D Bloomer and sister, Wilma Hodgkins
Born April 27, 1950 in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, she grew up in a military family, moving from California to Georgia and around the world including Okinawa, Japan, and Kaiserslautern Germany. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in Augusta, Georgia. She was working at Fort Gordon where she met her husband of 46 years upon his return from Vietnam. Her travels continued, and she lived with Tom in Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They moved to Tuscaloosa where they have made their home for the last 31 years. Geri fully devoted herself to her family, and fiercely and bravely battled Stage IV cancer over the last seven years so she could continue to love and support them. She enjoyed taking family trips to Disney World and the beach each year. Her three grandchildren adored their “GG” and loved spending time with her and helping walk Scotty.
Honorary Pallbearers are the employees at TAMKO Building Products. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC at a later date.
