Little Bud married Kitty December 21, 1957 and they were happily married for 64 years. He retired from Jim Walters Mine #5 after many years of faithful employment. He loved the outdoors, fishing, deer hunting, watching Nascar racing, and (as a big Alabama fan) watching Alabama football. He was a great man, loving husband, dad, and “Pa Pa” who loved his family. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and holding his new great-great-granddaughter. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest high on that mountain in peace. We love you Daddy…fly high.
Pallbearers will be Brad Battles, West Battles, Alan Battles, Hunter, Battles, Austin Battles, Nate Cash, Mitchell Cash, and Josh Smalley.
Honorary pallbearers are Sr. Stephen Browne, Dr. Anand Pandey, DCH Home Health, Alabama Hospice Care, and friends of the Vance and Brookwood communities.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
