Henry Marvin Koon

Henry Marvin Koon, 94, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on August 25, 2021 at his residence. A visitation is scheduled for 1-2pm on Wednesday, September 01, 2021 at Memory Chapel, followed immediately by a funeral service at 2pm from the funeral home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Rev. Joseph Morrison and Rev. Herb Thomas. Interment will be held at Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of Prayer, under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.

Mr. Koon was born January 25, 1927 to the late Mosey M. and Dulie C. Koon. He retired from BF Goodrich, enjoyed dancing and was a faithful member of the “Bojangles Coffee Crew.” Mr. Koon was a Baptist by faith, and longtime member of Circlewood Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Koon was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Koon on February 12, 2020, one son Jerry Koon, six sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his sons: Bobby (Bobbie) Koon, Larry (Libby) Koon and Doug (Wanda) Koon; daughters: Jackie (Frank) Brewer, Debbie Lee, Jerri Crawford and Pam Berry, and daughter-in-law Sharon Koon; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Phillip Brewer, Larry Koon, Jr., Jeff Koon and John Koon.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to his friend Charles “Chuck” Malone, L.B. Smith and the friends who helped care for Henry.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
