Herman Lee Garrett, 79 M of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away August 20, 2021. A calling hours for Herman will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A burial will occur Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rebecca Garrett and nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Garrett. Daughters, Sonja Todd(Leonard), Cheryl Wright, Cinda Lewis(Darryl), Step-daughters, Sheila Minor(Jerome), Sharon Bell(David), Hedy Robertson and Rose Bell.

Brother, Earl Garrett(Lucinda), Sisters,Emma, Lula(Stanford) and Doris.

Six grandchrildren and Nine Great-grandchildren

Herman Lee Garrett was born September 20,1941 in Birmingham Alabama to Joe T. and Rebecca

Garrett. He was a product of the Birmingham City School System, Ullman High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United State Army where he honorably serve his country for 23 years after which he retired . Later aftermoving to Tuscaloosa he worked as warehouse manager at AAA storage & moving company for many years. Herman was a loving husband and father. He was also a good friend to many and he will be loved and remembered by all.

God saw the road was getting rough

The hills were hard to climb,

He gently closed those loving eyes

And whispered “Peace be Thine”

The weary hours, the days of pain

The sleepless nights are passed

The ever patient worn out frame

Has found sweet rest at last.
