She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis James Holcomb; her parents, Ila Mae Nichols Scrivner and Authur Lee Scrivner; and sisters, Louise Holcutt and Jane Belcourt. Survivors include her four sons; Wade (Linda), Richard (Janet), Randy (Delana) and Ronnie (Patty); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Oswalt, Betty Simmons; and brothers, Leon Scrivner and Alan Scrivner.Ila was a wonderful example of a wife. Her husband of 61 years, her four sons, and daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were what she lived for. Unselfish love is how she has been described by so many of us as we reflect on her life. She struggled through health issues and never complained. Never once did we hear her complain that she didn't feel well but you could see that she had to be hurting. Her body and mind are worn but her heart, a servant's heart, is so strong, even to the end. I know there will be rejoicing in Heaven today because there is another angel who made it home. Proverbs 18:22: ""He who finds a wife finds what is good and finds favor with the Lord."" Our dad found what is good and found favor with God because of our mom. Mom, you will be missed so much by us all. WE LOVE YOU! Thanks be to God for the time He's given us with you. Pallbearers will be Adam Holcomb, Brandon Johnson, Bryan Skelton, Chris Sexton, David Skelton, Josh Holcomb, and Matt Skelton. Honorary pallbearers are the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Rosedale Baptist Church, and Hospice of West Alabama, DCH MICU, and Heritage Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
