

James Clyde "Jim" Wilson, age 71, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Grove Hill, died Oct. 24, 2011, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa with Dr. Ken Dunivant and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Smith's Family Cemetery in Hebron, Ala. with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Coma Wilson, and his mother, Clyde Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Norris Wilson of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Heather Wilson Williams of Auburn; sons, Lane Patrick Wilson (Julie) of Huntsville, James Russell Wilson (Jennifer) of Acworth, Ga., Christopher Stuart Wilson of Demopolis, and Joshua Ray Wilson of Demopolis; stepdaughter, Ashley Norris Hollingsworth (Eric) of Northport; stepson, Patrick Ryan Norris (Sharon) of Greeneville, Tenn.; sister, Betty Ann Ricketts (George) of Grove Hill; grandchildren, Anna Paige, Catherine, Emily, and Josie Wilson, Lauren, Hasten, and Andrew Williams, Haden and Kate Wilson, Emma Grace Wilson, and Alayna Rae Wilson; step-grandchildren, Caleb, Olivia, Carson Norris, and Cameron Hollingsworth; and niece, Kathryn Mitchell.
Jim graduated from Clarke County High School. Upon graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was owner and operator of Farmers Hardware in Grove Hill and later opened a location in Demopolis. He worked as a sales representative for Barksdale Warrior Paper Company, which later became American Osment Paper Company.
Jim was a kind, loving, and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Mark Garlington, Sunny Kim, Lionel McDonald, Walter Smith, Eddie Templeton, Kenne Walker, Oliver "Bo" Warren, Hasten Williams, and Andrew Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Lipscomb, John Reid, George Ricketts, Kossie Powell, Francis Powell, and employees of American Osment Paper Company.
