James W Collins

Services will be held At Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 am, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, with Rev. Chad Lowery officiating, with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow the service at Memory Hill Gardens.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Pierce Collins; Brothers, Gene Collins, and Jerry L. Collins. He is survived by his daughters, Shelia Murphy (Daniel) Amy Long (Tim); Son, Dewayne Collins; Sister, JoAnn James (Marvin); Grandchildren, Daniel W. Murphy, Hope Collins, Sarah Nichole Long, and Tyler Long; Great-grandchild, Addison Long.

James was a hard worker, a loving son, father, grandfather and brother. He was a caring person that would give you the shirt off of his back. He was a devoted christian that enjoyed reading his bible and loved his Lord. He attended Old Salem Baptist Church in Cottondale. He will be missed by many.

Pallbearers are Marvin James, Tracy Haynie, Cameron Brunner, Daniel Murphy, and Mike Collins.

Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, DCH Emergency Department, Caroline Carden- Social Worker at Hospice of West Alabama and Chad Lowery.
