I grew up with Dr. Doster as a next door neighbor, and always loved to sit and listen to him tell his stories -- he was forever a teacher.  I was always so interested in what he had to say.  We enjoyed holiday meals together, and afternoon visits.  After my father's death, he became my daughter's grandfather figure, though I'm not sure he ever really knew how much she adored him.  She loved spending time with him, and I would often find her sitting in his living room after spending an afternoon of listening to his stories about history and eating ice cream sandwiches with him.  He will be missed sorely by our family.  We loved him and are saddened by his passing.

Dr. Doster...my angel. I loved being your dental hygienist you were my absolute favorite patient. You will be greatly missed .

I knew Dr. Doster for many years but not well. I got to know him better only a few years ago. His mind was sharp and I found him an extremely interesting man, with a wealth of knowledge about the University and education in Alabama. He was very generous with his time and in other ways.

I am saddened by Dr. Doster's death.  A soft-spoken man, he was a good man who lived a long and faithful life.  --Stanley Rich
