

A Memorial Service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Memory Chapel, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Reception until 12PM.
James Dunkin, Sr. was born December 30, 1943, in Osceola, Arkansas. He enlisted with the military where he served in the US Army from 1961-1967. He also worked on the Mississippi River at a grain elevator. Later in his life, James worked mostly in building maintenance, as he certainly had a knack for fixing most anything. He enjoyed dressing in western clothing and had a passion for country music, more especially classic country music. In 1986, he married the love of his life Jeri Dunkin.
Mr. Dunkin was preceded in death by his son William Dunkin, his parents Robert and Mary Duncan and two sisters: Wilma Jean Moss and Wanda Dunkin.
He is survived by his wife Jeri Dunkin of Northport, AL; daughters: Darlene George, Jani Lilly and Rifi Ahmad; sons: James Dunkin, Jr, and Rick Ahmad; grandchildren: Nick Lilly, Devin Lilly, Garrett Lilly, Collin Ahmad, Jill Ahmad, Shannon Ahmad, Sarah George, Rebekah George, Katherine Dunkin, James Dunkin, III, Melissa Hallford and one great granddaughter Kaylee.
The family wishes to recognize the Men of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, Alabama Chapter J, as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Mr. Dunkin’s name, may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
