James "Jim" W. Powell

NORTHPORT – James “Jim” W. Powell, age 81, passed away January 11, 2023 at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Headley and Bro. David Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Dayton and Lucille Powell; daughter, Pamela Ann Brewer; grandson, Michael Carson Brewer; granddaughter, Kyndall Nichole Brewer; and grandson, Ryan Oneal Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Powell; daughters, Cynthia Lynn Parker and Sharon Denise Seales (Ray); grandchildren, Ashlyn Case (Jeffrey), Marlena Champion (Tyler), Tanner Seales, and Ivy Seales; and great-grandchildren, McKinnley, Reese, Sydney, and Easton.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Case, Tyler Champion, Ray Seales, and Tanner Seales.

Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Family Life Center.
