James G. Tate

TUSCALOOSA – James G. Tate, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, died February 9, 2019. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. James was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Tate; parents, S.P. and Elsie Tate; and daughter, Salena St. John. He is survived by his sons, Dennis Tate and Tony Foley (Elaine); and daughters, Jamie Kelley (Mike). Gwen Dutton, Audrey Williams (Scott), and Rachel Tucker (Tuck). James was a pleasant and easy-going man. He enjoyed current events, playing checkers (he always won). and sharing his past with family and acquaintances. He was retired from Bryce Hospital, and also owned a vending company.
