James "Jimmy" L. Thigpen

Graveside service will be Thursday, September 28th, at 11:00 A.M. at Memory Hill Garden, visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to graveside service at Memory Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents Hassell and Anita Thigpen; brother, John Hassell Thigpen; grandparents, Luther and Thelma Smith and John and Cora Thigpen.

He was survived by his sisters, Patricia Thigpen and Janet (Jan) Dicky Smith. Nephew, Nick Dickey (Brittney); niece, Bethany Robinson (J.D.); great nephews, Tucker Robinson and Lynkin Wetzel.

Jimmy graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 1972 and graduated from Walker College in 1974 Retired from Hillshire Farms. He was a former council member of the town of Woodstock, Alabama. Also former owner of Woodstock Tobacco. Currently employed by Groome Transportation.

Pallbearers are Nick Dickey, JD Robinson, Randal Smith, Ronnie Anders, Gary Smith, and Charles Turbuville.

Honorary pallbearers are 4th floor and ICU nursing staff at UAB West Bessemer, AL, 4th floor cardiac unit, doctors, nurses and Chaplin at UAB Birmingham, AL. Thank you for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness.
