Jane, as she was known by all, was born February 02, 1953 in Tuscaloosa to the late Thomas V. and Sara S. Nichols. A Christian by faith, she loved the Lord, and was a member of Skyland Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Hannah Sunday School Class. She loved her church and Sunday School family. She was a caring mother, devoted sister and proud grandmother. Jane adored her grandchildren, they were the love of her life, and her greatest joy. She was a big fan of The Beatles and their music, she loved Alabama Football, enjoyed sweet tea and was passionate about the color purple, her favorite! She had a natural talent for interior design and making spaces beautiful, and an impeccable eye for fashion. Jane faced many trials, particularly with her health. She faced every trial with admirable grace, courage and inner strength.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Thomas V. and Sara S. Nichols.
She is survived by one son Ben Walker of Northport, three grandchildren: Noah Walker, Addison Walker and Jaylee Walker; one sister Judy Nichols Hayes (Steve); niece Katy Hayes Lankford (Adam); nephew Douglas “Doug” Hayes (Cayla); and great nieces Layla Hayes, Liv Hayes (and Lucy Lankford arriving in August 2022); great nephews: Jake Shelby, Nathan “Bones” Shelby, and Eli Hayes.
The family wishes to recognize the Nichols and Summerville Cousins, Members of Skyland Baptist Church, Hannah Sunday School Class, Sheila Kelley, Liz Miller, Daphne Wilson, Cathy Stelman, DCH Cancer Center, and the former co-workers and clients of her extended Raymond James/Morgan Keegan Financial family as Honorary Pallbearers.
