J.B. "Sonny" Styron

TUSCALOOSA – J. B. “Sonny” Styron, age 77, of Tuscaloosa, died August 29, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at Christian Union Cemetery with Buddy Price officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Mary Styron; brother, Ken Styron; wife, Jessie Mae Styron; and daughter, Tonya Faith Styron.

Survivors include his wife, Bea Styron; step daughters, Brenda Martin and Debra Parker; sons, Michael Styron (Sharon C.) and Kerry Styron (Melissa Hopkins); step son, Bobby Garner (Rose); brother, Joe Styron (Glenda); sister-in-law, Sadie Styron; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

J. B., “Sonny” and “Paw Paw”, formerly of East Brookwood, was a well-loved minister, loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed and loved by all.

Pallbearers will be Chris Mello, Phillip Stanley, Joey Kizziah, James Vickers, Bobby Garner and Holt Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers are Matt Smith, Abe Javine, DCH Regional Medical Center 7 South staff and friends and neighbors of Sahama Village.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
