Jean was a strong woman of faith! She raised her children to have admiration for the church and the Lord! She was a woman of high morals and ethics and expected that of others. She adored her children and grandchildren. She loved traveling, line dancing, Alabama football, gospel and country music, word puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune as well as playing cards and scrabble. Jean enjoyed communicating her thoughts through poems. She wrote many poems about her family and life. Several of the poems were published.
This is a poem she wrote about being a good mother. "Mothers- God Like: Mothers are surely God's gift from above, Angels of mercy sent down in love. To nurture the children and teach them God's word, As she brings them up in the love of the Lord. She kisses away the pain and dries the tears, She tells us with God there's no room for fear. Like God - There are times we can't see her, But their presence is aways near. JBM '95"
Jean loved having family gatherings. She was a great cook, housekeeper and a real southern lady. She will be truly missed!
Pallbearers will be Jason Marchant, Austin Marchant, Tyler Marchant, Casey Stephens, Jeffrey Redding and Chuck Dimmerling.
Special Thanks goes out to Hospice of West Alabama, Melissa Dimmerling, Duane Marchant, and her other family members, for the many years of care taking as she dealt with the effects of dementia.
