Jessie Marie Lagrone, age 84, of Northport, died Jan. 8, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.E. "Gene" Lagrone; her brothers, J.B. Hopper and Junior Hopper; and her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Johnson.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Lagrone Johnson (Sam) and Sherry Lagrone Barrow (John); her sister, Doris Frady; her brother, Charles Hopper; her grandchildren, Crissa Barrow Letson (Greg), Jay Barrow (Brittany), and Jared Johnson; and other relatives.
Mrs. Lagrone grew up in Vernon. She was married to Gene Lagrone for over 50 years, and they spent most of their marriage in Montevallo. She graduated from the University of Montevallo in 1977. They spent their retirement years in Northport. She was a faithful member of Northport Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Jay Barrow, Jared Johnson, Greg Letson, Randy Watts, Dan Whetstone, and Brad Patton.
