TUSCALOOSA - Jimmy Mack Creel, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, passed away surrounded by family at Hospice of West Alabama on June 13, 2018. Graveside services will be 12 noon Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Effie Creel; siblings, Bert Creel, Marie Garner and Janice Billings; and grandson, Heath Bryant.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Johnnie Creel; daughters, Debra Bryant (Donnie), Melinda Corder (Lynn) and Pat Turner (Johnny); son, Mike Creel (Patricia); brothers, Billy Creel (Dean) and Bobby Creel (Janice); numerous grandkids and great-grandkids; and special friend, Ethel Gaddy and family.
Jimmy loved playing country music on his guitar, dancing, and singing karaoke. He was a simple man and lived a simple life, yet he enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was a fixer. He always loved to repair broken items and rarely found any item beyond salvage.
He kept himself busy, even in his later years, by staying in motion and not giving in to rest. Despite his diagnosis, he refused to stop living his life the way he wanted and the way he had lived his entire life.
Jimmy was retired from Central Foundry in Holt after 23 years of dedicated service as well as from Warrior Tractor.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are the Englebert family, Hospice of West Alabama, Wright’s Bakery, Dr. John Crew, Dr. John Miller and Dr. John Dubay.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
We love you and miss you Daddy. Rest high on that mountain without pain and suffering.
