

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Earldene Ruth Capley; father William F. Capley Sr.; mother Louise Capley; brothers William Capley Jr.; Charles Capley; Thomas Capley; Johnny Capley; and sister Kathryn Humphrey.
Survivors include his son Norris(Dena)Capley; stepson Ray(Sharon)Glenn of Northport; stepdaughter, Beverly(Marky)Garrison of Spanish Fort; brothers Denny Capley of Cottondale; George(Sandra)Capley of Antioch; and Bobby Capley of Palm Coast, Fla.
His grandchildren are Felecia(Jared)Ellis of Berrydale, FL; McCayla(Keith)Finley of Northport; Nathan Capley of Northport; Josiah Capley of Hawaii; Hadassah(Jake)Testa of Pender, NC.; Tabitha(Felipe)Callejas of Northport; Benaiah Capley of Northport; Elisha Capley of Savannah, Ga.; Micaiah Capley of Northport; Renee(Todd)Agee of Northport; Carrie(Jonathan)Powless of Athens; Kristi(Jim)Menees of Clarksville, Tn.; and Torrey(Carrie)Garrison of Spanish Fort, Molly(George)Fitzpatrick of Jasper; Misty(Scott)Yarbrough of Northport; Keith(Seana)Gentry of Liveoak, FL; along with eighteen great grandchildren, and three great- great- grandchildren.
Born September 9, 1935 in Kellerman, AL, he was raised with his seven bothers and one sister. In the coarse of his life he served our country in the U.S. Army, made many trips circling the world as a merchant marine, and never met a stranger he could not talk to. Joe married in 1969 to his wife of forty one years and moved to Northport, AL to spend the remainder of his life with family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Capley, Benaiah Capley, Elisha Capley, Micaiah Capley, Felipe Callejas, and Zackery Thomas.
A visitation for Joe will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.
