Joe Hayes, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, died March 12, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Big Hurricane Cemetery with Tony Boyd officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe "Slick" Hayes and Edista Hayes.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hayes; daughter, Tonya Hayes; son, Joe Hayes, III (Robin); sister, Lisa Reid; grandchildren, Cory and Brandon; step-grandchildren, Tori and Hunter; and great-grandchild, Carson.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Blakney, Jr Reed, J.T. Taylor, Earl Nix, Boyce Winters, Brian Cunningham, Coby Derdzinske, Keith Mouzon, Bill Kennedy, Lee Pake, and friends.
