John "Tay Tay" Taylor Stringham

John Taylor “TayTay” Stringham, 15, of Vance, passed away on October 15, 2020, at Children’s of Alabama. A visitation will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM from Memory Hill Gardens with Bro. Ray Hallman officiating. Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity provider.

TayTay was born on December 16, 2004, to Melissa Johnson and John Stringham. He was a happy and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. His passions were making people happy and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

TayTay was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Steve Johnson and John Taylor; and his brother, Brandon Scott Jones.

He is survived by his mother and father; grandmothers, Kathy Johnson and Patricia Spell; siblings, Randa Miles (Michael), Hayleigh Jones, Katelyn Averett (Jessy), Dustin Curington, Phillip Stringham, Brittany Stringham, and Jonathon Stringham; seven nieces and two nephews. In addition, Taytay leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins that love and cherish him.

Pallbearers will be Michael Miles, Jessy Averett, Brandon Johnson, Dalton Bailey, Christopher Boyd, and Caden Beams.

Honorary Pallbearers are Phillip Stringham, Dustin Curington, Mark Tucker, Brookwood High School, Brookwood Middle School, Vance Elementary School, RISE School of Tuscaloosa, Miracle League, Children’s of Alabama, and Wright’s Restaurant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of TayTay to Mrs. Rubino’s Special Education Class at Brookwood High School.

Let me first say God bless this precious family.
This memory of Tay Tay AND Phillip is etched in my brain. It makes me smile every time I think of it.
2 minutes until the school bell rings. Phillip has Tay Tay at the back of the entrance hall as if to be at Holiday Beach raceway. The bell rings AND THEIR OFF!!! Someone opens the door and out they go. The smile on Tay Tays face says it all. He won...
