John Chester Wilson Jr.

John Chester Wilson Jr. age 80, of Moundville, Alabama passed away on January 27, 2026 at Moundville Health and Rehab. A Graveside Service will held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Memory Hill Gardens with Thomas Wilson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Chester Wilson; mother, Ollie Bell Wilson; son, Johnny Wilson III; brother, Randy M. Wilson; wife, Patty C. Wilson.

He is survived by his spouse, Rebecca H. Wilson; daughter, Misty Shinholster (Stanley); stepdaughter, Gayle Chepeka (Dave), Amy Billings (Trae); sisters, Blanche Johnson, Peggy Alexander; brothers, Aubrey Wilson, Jimmy Ryan (Margaret); grandchildren, Taylor, Baleigh, Amber, Garrett, Kinsey, Jared; great grandchildren, Palmer, Annah Carol, Ryan.

John met and married Patty Colburn and together they had 2 children, Johnny and Misty. Patty died in 1993 and Johnny in 2001. John was a wonderful cook, and it was something he enjoyed. He also enjoyed planting and raising a garden. Another enjoyment was wood working. He made several pieces of beautiful furniture.

In 1999 he met and married Becky Wilson (yes, she was already a Wilson.) John had rather be in the road going somewhere (anywhere) than most anything else. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed camping and his camping friends. He and Becky traveled in the motor home often.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
