Kai Ulf Guenther, age 54, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died May 27, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, with Fred Schuckert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, LuAnne Clemens Guenther; mother, Christa Guenther; and brother, Tobias Helling. He shared a new family, Conor McCutchen and Kristen Hubbard.
Kai was born in Annaberg, Germany on February 23, 1964. As an Automotive Engineer, he arrived in Tuscaloosa in 1999 on a special project for M.B.U.S.I. He married LuAnne in 2002 and has worked in several auto plants for 16 years.
He loved this city, culture and country and became a citizen in 2006. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Easterseals West Alabama or Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
