Leesal spent his working life with PPG, installing glass in structures across Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas, but his true passion was teaching, building, and sharing life with his family. A master of many skills, he could build anything—from birdhouses to bows, shooting houses to minnow traps, and anything in between—and he loved teaching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how to do the same. He instilled in them a deep appreciation for hard work, the outdoors, and the joy of learning by doing.
He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing guitar, often filling family gatherings with music, laughter, and stories from his own childhood. Baseball was another lifelong passion; he taught generations—from his son Daren, who went on to play professional baseball, down to his great-grandson Logan—how to pitch, hit, and love the game as much as he did. His grin could light up a room, and his stories and laughter were the life heart of many family moments.
Leesal’s legacy is the knowledge, love, and memories he shared with everyone around him. He will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and the countless lessons he imparted—not just through words, but through the time, care, and love he gave to all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Kizzah will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with the visitation one hour prior.
