Len G. Waldrop

Len G. Waldrop, age 76, of Coaling, passed away at home and left to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 9, 2017. Len was born April 12, 1940 in Fayette, Al to the late Belton and Euline Waldrop.Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Coaling Baptist Church with services conducted by the Reverend Todd Burkhalter. Burial will immediately follow in the Town of Coaling Cemetary with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 at the church prior to the service.Len was preceded in death by his parents, Belton and Euline Waldrop; brothers, Silas Waldrop and Wayne Waldrop; sister, Kathlene Clark; and his son, Mike Waldrop.Survivors include his wife, Mary Waldrop; son, Tony Waldrop (Beth) of Woodstock, Ala.; daughter, Tammy Parham (Jim) of Amory, Miss.; stepsons, Johnny Averett (Dianne) of Vance, Ala., Gary Averett (Sara) of Coaling, Ala. and Bob Averett (Tabitha) of Coaling, Ala.; and stepdaughter, Jan Davis (Forrest) of Coaling, Ala. Len also was survived by seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.Len was born and raised in Fayette, Ala., worked at Gulf States Paper Corporation. In his young adult life, retired from Delphi Thermal and was a lifetime deacon of Coaling Baptist Church.Pallbearers will be Drew Parham, Chad Waldrop, Chris Waldrop, Cody Waldrop, Trey Averett, Josh Averett, Will Averett, Rick Averett and Jessy Averett.Honorary pallbearers include Coaling Baptist Church members, the Coaling community, Dr. Steve Lovelady and staff and Hospice of West Alabama.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coaling Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of West Alabama.
