Linda "Nana" White Chatham
August 3, 1944 – November 26, 2018
Linda "Nana" White Chatham, age 74, of Akron, Ala., passed away November 26, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Memory Chapel with Dr. Herbert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, James "Bull" White and Elizabeth "Lib" White; brothers, Jimmy, Kenneth "Yank" and Paul White; and son, Mikel W. Chatham. Survivors include her husband, Frank D. Chatham; daughters, Pamela Hassell (George) and Donna Bell; son, Jeffrey Chatham; sisters, Janeane Simmons, Carol Sue White and Ammie Clifton; grandchildren, Mikel Chatham, Jr. (Lita), Lindsey Hassell, Zachary Chatham; Haley Hassell, Karley Hassell, Landon Hassell and Colby Chatham; and great-grandchildren, Braxton Burroughs, Lyla Cannon, Peyton and Aubrie Chatham and Corbett and Elijah Pickering. Linda passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family who loved her dearly. She grew up in Hale County, Alabama. She later raised her family in Birmingham before moving back to Hale County. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed thrifting, playing cards and crafting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Mikel Chatham, Jr., Zachary Chatham, Landon Hassell, Jack White, Doug Payne and Bo White. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Arti and Dr. Anand Pandey, Dr. Carraway, Dr. Salinas, the nurses and staff of the CICU at DCH.
