Linda Laughlin Sample

NORTHPORT – Linda Laughlin Sample, age 62, of Northport, Ala., died July 15, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene McCarley officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Robert Echols; mother, Mary Ruth Laughlin; and father, Cardell Laughlin.

Survivors include her sister, Kathy Laughlin Echols and niece, Christy Echols Lafon.

Linda was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 25, 1955. She chose to move to Birmingham where she spent most of her adult life and returned to Tuscaloosa to care for her parents.

She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, Class of 1974, and of Samford University.

Linda was devoted to spending time with her aging parents. She was an animal lover especially her cat of 15 years, Winston.

She was very passionate about her faith and generous and loving to all. She was loved by a great number of friends and family and will be sorely missed.

Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama and family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of West Alabama.
