Lois was born August 25, 1916, in Tuscaloosa County and lived many years in the Mount Olive community. She retired from the South Central Bell Telephone Company after 37 years of faithful service and continued to be active in the Telephone Pioneers. Lois made countless lifelong friendships during that time, and she was a mentor to so many people. These friends kept in close contact with her over the years through visits, calls, and cards. She so appreciated their love and concern for her.
Lois was a dedicated member of the Tuscaloosa Primitive Baptist Church for 38 years. Sister Lois was known for her giving spirit, and she was adored by all members young and old. Lois enjoyed going to church and worshiping with her church family. She formed deep and meaningful relationships with her brothers and sisters in Christ. Lois' family appreciated the church members' devotion to her.
Lois enjoyed traveling and spending time with her sisters, brother, and their families. She was their special Aunt Lois and was affectionately called Momma Lois and LoLo by the younger children. She had a unique relationship with each one and attended all their important events in their lives. Each child could count on her to have that particular snack or food they enjoyed waiting for them when they visited. The memories she created will live on in our hearts forever. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be her great-nephews Dan Hogue, Dale Hogue, Tim Davidson, John Hogue, Jr., Ben Harris, Glen Harris, Brian Harris, Jayse McQuaig, Chase Fransioli, and Harris Nickoles.
