

Louise Hobson, age 78, of Duncanville, died June 5, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. John Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Coker Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Willie Wheat; her husband, C.K. Hobson; and her sons, Larry Hobson and Charles Hobson.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandie Shuttlesworth (Mike); her daughter-in-law, Ruby Hobson; her sister, Bertha Bauer (Ludwig); her brother, Billie Sam Wheat (Sherry); her grandchildren, Tracy Trull, Michelle McMillan (Scott), Scott Hobson (Linda), and Mike Shuttlesworth (Kristin); and seven great-grandchildren.
Louise loved life and never met a stranger. She took delight in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. She also worked for many years at the Tuscaloosa County School System, preparing meals for all of the children at Maxwell Elementary and Hillcrest Middle School. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and camping with numerous family and friends. Louise was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa County and a longtime member of Duncanville Baptist Church. She was very active in her retirement through her many social clubs as well as organizing a supper club for seniors. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.
Pallbearers will be Charles Bauer, Jimmy Bauer, Jimmy Pearce, Guy “Bubba” Pearce, Scott McMillan, and Abe Hobson.
