Lovis Woods, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, died March 23, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Larry Corder officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank Woods; son, Kenneth "Ken" Woods; parents, Clarence and Cora Black; and brothers, JC, Ormand, Olien and Lelvoid Black.Survivors include her daughter, Debra "Debbie" Woods; sisters, Willie Mae Barnes, Mila Rhea Fowler, Barbara Patterson, Eulene Hardy, Virginia Gardner and Aileen Tidwell; brothers, Roger Rodell Black and Randall Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews.Honorary pallbearers are the retirees of Gulf States Paper Corp., Dr. George P. Miller and Dr. Grant Skalmik.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Alberta Baptist Church.
