

Malcolm (Mal) Guy Beavers, Jr. was born on March 30, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. He passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 79. A visitation will be held on October 15, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Memory Chapel Funeral Home located on 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location at 11:00 am.
Mal's family moved to Vancouver, Washington where he graduated from Hudson Bay High School. He proudly served his country in Vietnam and Germany. After he moved to Tuscaloosa, he graduated from The University of Alabama. He started his own Residential Design business where he worked successfully for nearly 40 years. He was a member of both the Tuscaloosa and State Homebuilders Associations, serving as President of the Associates Council for both organizations. In 2013 Mal was inducted into the Alabama Building Industry Hall of Fame. He was a member of Tuscaloosa Civitan's, and he volunteered with several other civic organizations in Tuscaloosa. After Mal retired, he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed the camaraderie with his friends at Tall Pines Golf Club. Mal was loved by many.
Mal is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm G. Beavers, Sr. and Alice Fell Beavers.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Bambarger Beavers; daughter, Ayesha Nicole Beavers; stepson, David Raymond Middleton; brothers, William Beavers and Robert Beavers; two granddaughters; one beloved niece and three special nephews.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Klicker, Dick Davis, Neil Myers, Eddie Kelley, Steve Hood, and Roger Hall.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite, Billy Boyd, Brett Laney, and Tall Pines Golf Club friends.
