Margaret was preceded in death by her spouse of 66 years, Ellis M. Lee; sisters, Betty Shelton and Lillie Mae Parker; brothers, Eugene McDaniel, H.A. McDaniel, and Tommy McDaniel; daughter-in-law, Esther Lee; and granddaughter-in-law, Denise Stephens.

After graduating from Holt High School, Margaret met the love of her life, Ellis Lee, and together they built a wonderful life. She spent the majority of her working years in the garment industry, working her way up to management. After retirement, she continued working from home, doing alterations well into her 90s. She was a master seamstress. She loved all kinds of dancing, including line dancing and ballroom dancing, and she also loved Tai Chi. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family.
Margaret was a very positive person who loved life and was never afraid to try anything. The most important thing in her life was family. She taught her family the importance of being together and lived a life that always pointed them toward God.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her caregivers, Pat Hutson and Lavonna Hernandez, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for all the compassion and kindness they provided.
Services for Ms. Lee will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
