Mark Eason was born in Birmingham, Ala. on October 6, 1961. In 1972, his family moved to the Chicago, Ill. area, where Mark went on to graduate from high school and college. On election night, 1986, Mark relocated to Tuscaloosa. Mark was introduced to Janice Ensley in January, 1991, and within only two weeks they knew they wanted to marry. Feb. 14, 2012, would have been their 20th anniversary. Mark looked for the good in everyone, or rather, he always assumed it was already there. He never looked for ulterior motives, he never met a stranger, and he could always find common ground with the people he met.
Mark loved a good book, a good conversation, good food, and most of all, his family. He truly had the heart of a servant. Mark wholeheartedly supported his wife in every endeavor, large or small. They were rarely seen apart.
Janice's words of farewell: "Marky, my best friend, I will miss and love you forever. I was the 'Piglet' to your 'Pooh.'
Pallbearers will be Mike Schaetzle, Chip Brinyark, Dave Heggem, Phil Roach, Stephen Roach, Roger Patterson, Jim Yates, and Bro. Ensley of Northwood Church of Christ.
Honorary pallbearers are University Church of Christ, staff on 2nd and 3rd floor DCH ICUs, and all of the physicians that cared for Mark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of West Alabama-Tuscaloosa and Tuscaloosa Library.
