Marsha was born with an intellectual disability; it did not define who she was or the scope of her life. During her middle school years, she traveled to Columbia, Tennessee, to attend The King’s Daughter School. Upon returning to Alabama, she was accepted at The McGraw Center – The ARC of Tuscaloosa County. In 1987, she received a Certificate of Diploma from The Regional Education Center, commonly known as The Sprayberry Center, where she also received the title of Valentine’s Day Queen.
Marsha lost her parents, Edward Rudolph and Bernice Hallman Booth, over 30 years ago. Her sister, Amanda Booth Ingram, was instrumental in getting her into a local group home, where she met her lifelong best friends, Carolyn and Liz. They were her roommates and friends for over 20 years, often playfully arguing over who was boss and who got to sit up front. Physical altercations may or may not have taken place—they would never tell. Poor Liz just sat in the back and enjoyed the ride.
Marsha was fearfully and wonderfully made by God’s hands. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—banana pudding, for instance. The family never understood how one person could eat a whole Tupperware bowl full, but she did. Music, sunglasses, friends, and family were everything to her. Marsha didn’t understand the acceptance of Christ; she was just born with Him. She was the best kind of sister—one who loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. She was cherished by her family and loved being with her brothers, sisters, their children, and grandchildren. She was a true and loving friend to all who knew and loved her. Above all, she was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Marsha is survived by her sister, Amanda Booth Ingram (John); brothers, Tim Booth (Melissa) and Anthony Booth; niece, Danielle Booth; and nephews, Dylan Horton (Amy), Cole Horton (Rachel), Caleb Ingram (Ronni), Seth Booth (Brittney), Cole Ingram, and Blake Booth. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Harlan Booth, her great-niece Adelyn Rose Booth, and her nephew Daniel Holt.
