Mary Gregory passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 104. Born on December 19, 1921, she was a beloved, generous, resilient, selfless, thoughtful, and inspirational soul who touched many lives.
A lifelong resident of Fosters, Alabama, Mary was deeply devoted to her family. She was married to her husband, Cecil Gregory, for 67 loving years. Throughout her life, she was a dutiful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Gregory (Patty) and Steve Gregory (Dianne); her grandchildren, Brian Gregory (Callie), Christy O'Bryant (Ken), Lisa Hollingsworth (Shane), Steven Gregory (Alicia), and Meg Ryan; and her great-grandchildren, Jake and Sam Gregory, Ayden and Ava Kate Hollingsworth, Emma and Harper Gregory, Madison and Mayson Hubbard, and Lily Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents, James Harvey and Rosetta Maddox; her sisters, Ollie Mae Watson, Annie Lou Glover, Thelma Powell, and Myrtle Ballard; and her brothers, Buford, Woodford, and Lewis Maddox.
Mary found joy in gardening and was an excellent cook and baker. She was also a cornerstone of the Fosters community and a dedicated member of the Grants Creek Baptist Church.
Pallbearers honoring her life will include Ken O'Bryant, Brian Gregory, Steven Gregory, Shane Hollingsworth, Ayden Hollingsworth, Eric Swanson, Benjamin Davis, and the Heritage Home and Health Care Staff.
