TUSCALOOSA – Mary Ellen Owens, age 100, of Tuscaloosa, died July 10, 2016. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.Mary Ellen Owens was born on May 2, 1916 in Hale County, Alabama to Mattie Logan and John Wesley Brown. She was united in marriage to Rufus Owens on March 6, 1932. To this union, two children were born.Mrs. Owens, known to many as ""Mother Owens"" accepted Christ as her Savior at a very early age. She went home to be with her precious LORD on Sunday, July 10, 2016. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Mary Cottle, Patricia Christian, Barbara Jackson, David Rufus, Johnny and Michael Owens, their families and a host of friends.
