Michael J. Hatter

Michael J. Hatter, age 46, of Tuscaloosa, died Nov. 4, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Brooks Shoultz and Paul Maharrey officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookwood with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Hatter, his brothers, James Lee Hatter and Phillip Hatter, and his sisters, Bobbie Thomas and Shirley Parsons.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Hatter; and his sisters, Charlotte Kayden, Karen Hatter, and Brenda Smith.

Michael Joe liked fishing and gardening. He was a big animal lover and especially loved cats. He liked going to church. He loved sitting on the porch swing singing gospel songs with his mother and his friend Kathy. He also loved Alabama football.

Pallbearers will be Jamey McCrory, Jerrell Smith, Jason Smith, Donnie Thomas, Christopher Sampson, Bardo Kayden, and Oneal Vinning.

Honorary pallbearers are First United Pentecostal Church and Pastor Phillip Egan, Hospice of West Alabama, and DCH.
