TUSCALOOSA - Mildred Elizabeth Miles Savage, age 90, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away January 15, 2019 at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be held 12 noon Friday, January 18, 2019, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Emmett Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Canner D.G. “Jack” Savage; daughter, Janice Gayle Savage; parents, Mary Josephine Simpson Cook and Milton “Doc” Miles; stepfather, Randolph Cook; sister, Estelle Miles Harris; brothers, Randolph Cook, Eugene Cook and William T. “Billy” Cook; two loving daughters-in-law, Donna C. Savage and Maxine C. Savage.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Ray Savage of Naperville, Ill., Larry Wayne Savage (Jean) of Yorkville, Ill. and Michael Wade Savage (Liza) of Englewood, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.
She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church on Hargrove Road since moving to Tuscaloosa in 1990. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was loved by many. Pallbearers will be Chris Savage, Matthew Savage, Noah Savage, Randy Kuntz, Danny Broadhead, and Charlie Cook. A special thanks to her sons for their loving support along with an extra special thanks to her niece (like daughter), Shirley Broadhead (Danny) and granddaughter, Jacqueline Smith (Emmett) for their loving and caring support through her time of need.
