

Nelia Mae Jackson Davis, age 79, of Tuscaloosa, died October 5, 2014, at Heritage Health & Rehab. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie McAteer and Rev. Tony Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Cottondale Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight, October 7, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Peterson and Annie Mae Jackson; husband, Clyde Jessie Davis, Jr.; son, Bruce Edward Davis; grandsons, Darrell Dewayne Dockery and Bruce Edward Davis; great-grandson, James Dakota Parker; sisters, Betty Jean Harris and Rose Lee Montgomery; and brother, Howard Eugene Jackson, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Faye Davis of Tuscaloosa, Shelia Ann Weston (Roger) of Brookwood, and Barbara Darlene Herring (Ken) of Cottondale; her sons, Jessie McKinley Davis of Cottondale, Frank Vernon Davis (Linda) of Holt and Rocky Dale Davis, Sr. (Dolly) of Cottondale; a brother, Richard Franklin Jackson (Dean) of Duncanville; 43 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Lee Herring, Jr., William Clyde Herring, Edward Ervin Guy, Christopher Lee Boisclair, Robert Anthony Culp, Jeremy Brian Dunn, Shelby Arlene Herring, James Wesley Parker, Dwight Hagler and Brady Patton, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers are Heritage Health Care and station 2 staff members, Southern Hospice Care and Dr. William Alldredge MD and staff.
