Nellie Brock

NORTHPORT – Nellie Bea S. Brock, age 94, of Northport (Alexandria), Ala., died June 18, 2017, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Jon Killingsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brock; parents, Evie and Jack Smith; son, Mike Brock; and grandson, David Brock.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Andrews (Ray) and Iris Rainey; daughter-in-law, Shelby Thornton (Bob); son, Charles Brock (Ardie); sister, Clyde Mobley; grandchildren, Eric Andrews (Carol), Regina Sanders (Todd), Tommy Blackmon (Kellie), Carey Blackmon (Tamara), Janna Gardner (Danny), Shannon Lacy (Blane) and Debbie Hutton (David); sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was a wonderful homemaker, a wonderful cook and loved to sew. She loved her family and everyone loved her sense of humor.

Pallbearers will be Landon Andrews, Carey Blackmon, Tommy Blackmon, Brock Broughton, Connor Broughton, Brock Lacy, Caden Lacy and Noah Gardner.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Forest Manor Station 3.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
