Funeral Mass will be held Monday February 22, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Thomas Ackerman officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider directing. Entombment will follow in Memory Hill Gardens Mausoleum. Rosary Service will be Sunday February 21, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with visitation to follow from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Patricia Ann Antero was born in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, New York City on October 25, 1936. She was the oldest child of John and Alice Coughlin (Bailey) also of New York City. She graduated from Guardian Angel Catholic grammar school and St. Anthony’s Technical High School, also in Chelsea, New York. Upon graduation Patricia worked for a short time at the Park Sheraton Hotel in a clerical position where she met many famous people who both resided and visited there. Patricia then secured employment with the Equitable Life Insurance Company in Midtown Manhattan. Equitable provided a retreat for their employees in Boonton, New Jersey, that many of her co-workers and she would travel to on weekend getaways. It was there where she met the love of her life, William (Billy) Antero.
Patricia and Bill were married on October 30, 1954. They settled in Boonton and raised their family, having three children, Rick, Patricia Mary and Mary Jo. They later moved to Rockaway, New Jersey. Patricia was a very dedicated wife and mother. To help make the ends meet she worked many different jobs throughout her life. Patricia retired from the Morris County Treasurer’s Office in 1998.
Upon her and Bill’s retirement they moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to be close to her daughter, Patricia, and assist her in caring for her three young children. In addition, she worked in her daughter’s podiatry office in a clerical position.
Patricia is pre-deceased by her husband, Bill, her youngest daughter, Mary Jo, her parents Alice and John, and her two brothers, Richard and Michael.
She is survived by her children, Rick Antero, (Karen) and Patricia Antero-Farris (Patrick), her beloved sister, Teresa Smith (Thomas) of Staten Island, New York, a niece, Tara, and nephew, Thomas, five grandchildren, Lisa Wetklow, (Theodore), Kevin Antero (Nina), Virginia, Michael and William Ferro, and her great grandson TJ Wetklow, who she adored.
Patricia was an impeccable dresser, kept a spotless home and was an amazing and most thoughtful cook for her family her entire life, despite her commitments and work schedule. Patricia will be best remembered for her never-ending love of her family. Mom, Pat, Nanny, Tisha -- she wore many hats with lots of names and was loved deeply by all who knew her.
Patricia was deeply devoted to the love of Jesus. She was a devout Catholic and prayed endlessly for her family, others, and the safety of this nation. She will be missed every moment of the day, and her family is thankful for the time God gave her on this earth with them.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Farris, Michael Ferro, William Ferro, Valentin Ferro, Jesse O'Malley and Marty Foley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Antero, Kevin Antero, Teddy Wetklow, Paxton Farris, Augusto Ferro and Thomas Smith.
