

Holifield, Pauline Hall, age 89, was called away from her family and friends to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, December 26, 2024. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, immediately followed with the funeral services beginning at 2:30 pm at Memory Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Gardner officiating. The Order of the Eastern Star services will also be in Memory Chapel with Past Worthy Matron, Pat Harris, officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Festus Brooks Holifield; infant son, Festus Brooks Holifield II; daughter, Paula H. (& son-in-law, Gary Lee) Scruggs; daughter, Cathy H. (& son-in-law, Ben) Parrish; son-in-law, Bobby Hightower; son-in-law, Donald E. Elliott; her father, Walter Hall and mother, Mary Wedgeworth Spicer; her brothers, Walter Hall Jr., Jimmy Christian Hall, Charlie Hall; sisters, Jean, Ruby Nell McBride and Mary Ruth Elmore.
She is survived by four of her six daughters, Marcia A. Holifield of Tuscaloosa, Tina H. Hightower of Chatsworth, GA, Vicki Holifield-Elliott (Alan Blaich) of Coker and Selina H. Caldwell (Chuck) of Tuscaloosa.
She is survived by eleven grandchildren, Gary Sampsell (Soudabeh) of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew Sampsell (Miranda) of Northport, Steven Scruggs (Jennifer) of Tuscaloosa, Adam Parrish (Samantha) of Columbus, OH, Christopher Honeycutt (Hope) of Resaca, GA, Amanda Barnett (Joe) of Resaca, GA, Nanette Dykes (Jamie) of Buhl, D.J. Elliott (Mary) of Northport, Whit Elliott (Brooke) of Buhl, Brooks Elliott of Coker, Paige Duarte (Jon) of Northport, Lee Smelley of Coker.
She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Holifield was born February 9, 1935, in Tuscaloosa. She attended Holt High School. She worked for the US Postal Service in Bessemer, AL as a city carrier for 12+ years. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Clara Blackman Chapter #167 for 56+ years.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Sampsell, Christopher Honeycutt, D.J. Elliott, White Elliott, Brooks Elliott, Lee Smelley and Jon Duarte. Honorary pallbearers are Earvin Lindsey, DC., Arturo Otero, MD and Lewis Cole, DMD.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. But don't cry for her because it's not over. We'll all be together again in Heaven!
