

Pauline Truhett, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died Oct. 23, 2011, at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 12 noon today at Skyland Baptist Church with John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Thelma Cook; her son, Dennis Glen Truhett; her grandson, Douglas Alan McJenkins; and her brothers, N.L. (Akiko), Edwin, and Clyde Cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna McJenkins and Darlene Wilson; her son, David Truhett (Cindy); her sister, Minnie Jean Fortenberry; her brother, James Cook (Linda); her grandchildren, Jason Truhett, Jennifer McJenkins Strother (Brian), Joshua Wilson Klein, Jeremy Wilson, and Seth Truhett; and her great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Matt McCracken, Cailin Truhett, Camerin, Caitlin, Courtnie, and Claire Strother, and Rylan and Audrie Grace Wilson.
Whether you called her Mom, MawMaw, or Pauline, you knew that she loved you unconditionally. She was happiest when she was helping others or holding a child, and her fried chicken and dressing were simply the best ever made.
Pallbearers will be James Cook, Jr., Keith Nowell, Jim McJenkins, Randy Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, and Seth Truhett.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobbie Swindle, Teresa Lee, Janet Lafoy, Ann Glass, and Louise Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers, Pauline requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Hospice of West Alabama.
