Phillip D Hughey

Phillip D. Hughey, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, died Aug. 31, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with James Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Hughey; his brother, Wendell Hughey; and his stepdaughter, Sonja Courtney.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Hughey; his stepson, Tony Smith (Brenda); his sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Shirley Holcomb; and his brothers, Calvin Hughey and Jerry Hughey.

Pallbearers will be Don Worrell, Bobby Worrell, Jay Hughey, Ronald Hughey, Jeremy Hughey, and Danny Holcomb.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of State ABC Board, doctors and staff of DCH Emergency Department, Sunlighters and Joy Sunday School Class at Valley View Baptist Church, Bobby and Stephanie Buffalo, and great-nephew Jarrod Hughey.
