

COALING Polly W. Lunceford, age 91, of Coaling, died June 1, 2010, at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Gary Ward and George Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Lunceford, and her sons, Jackie C. Lunceford and Larry L. Lunceford.
Survivors include her daughters, Bettye J. Barnett, Peggy Appling (Joe), and Linda Scales; her son, Bobby Lunceford (Clista); 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lunceford was a member of Coaling United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at Druid City Hospital, substitute teacher at Vance Elementary School, sales representative for Luziers Products, and a member of American Business Women's Association, Druid Promenaders, and Kuntree Swingers Square Dance Club.
She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who instilled abiding love and devotion to family. She brought years of joy to her family, always putting her family above all else. She was an inspiration to her family, and we will always cherish her.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Chuck Barnett, Greg Appling, Brian Logan, Sam Appling, David Lunceford, and Rusty Appling, and great-grandsons Jarrod Hunt, Justin Hunt, and Will Arnwine.
Honorary pallbearers are James Lunceford, Floyd Lunceford, Jimmy Hobson, Wayne Foster, Ed Eschete, Druid City Promenaders, Station 2 nurses and CNAs of Heritage Health Care, employees of Pearl Trucking, and grandsons and granddaughters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association .
