Reatha D. Calhoun

Reatha M. Dunson Calhoun, age 91, of Foley, died January 13, 2015. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. John Drawhorn officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, at Foley United Methodist Church, 915 N. Pine Street, Foley, Ala., with Rev. Dr. Patricia Bruner officiating.She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Charles Calhoun; parents, Charlie G. and Pernnie M. Dunson; brother, G. Cecil Dunson; and granddaughter, Amy Bennett Bellows.Survivors include her daughters, Beverly C. Bennett (John) of Montgomery, Ala. and Janette C. Walker of Foley, Ala.; grandchildren, Matthew C. Bennett (Karen) of Montgomery, Ala., Regan R. Walker (Reda) of Foley, Ala., Laura W. Lyons (Owen) of Mobile, Ala., and Brent R. Bellows of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Jack and Will Bellows of Atlanta, Ga., Cal and Brady Bennett of Montgomery, Ala., Aurelia and Oliver Lyons of Mobile, Ala., and Harrison and Hunter Walker of Foley, Ala.; nieces, Sharon C. Dunson of Center Point, Ala., Ione Lowery of Pleasant Grove, Ala., and Melissa Roth of Boulder, Colo.; and nephew, Danny G. Dunson of Gardendale, Ala.Prior to moving to Foley, Alabama, Mrs. Calhoun was a resident of Tuscaloosa, Ala. for 59 years where she was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and Hargrove Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of Skyland Park Garden Club, and a member of the Candor Study Club. Mrs. Calhoun was also a member of Foley United Methodist Church. Reatha was known to have a servant's heart and the gift of hospitality. She will be missed by her family and friends.Pallbearers will be Matthew Bennett, Regan Walker, Owen Lyons, Danny Dunson, Brent Bellows and James M. (Pete) Walker.
