Retana Terry Montgomery

NORTHPORT – Retana Terry Montgomery, age 72, of Northport, Ala., died July 26, 2018 at Hospice of West Ala. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Montgomery and Bill Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Terry; mother, Elna Shepherd Terry; sisters, Maxine Goodbeau, Louise El Moustafa, Lynnette Davis; and brothers, John Cecil Terry and Lance Dale Terry.

Survivors include her husband, James Gordon Montgomery; daughter, Susan Montgomery Daniel (Jeff); sons, James Michael Montgomery (Debbie) and Terry Gordon Montgomery (Mary); sister, Tracey Burr; brother, Ray Terry; and grandchildren, James Ennis (Katie), Gavin Ennis, Peyton Montgomery (Kara), Parker Montgomery, Preston Montgomery, Drew Daniel and Will Daniel, great-grandsons Barrett Ennis and Alex Ennis.

Retana was born in Salina, UT and was a longtime resident of Northport, Ala. She retired from Leigh Buick Mercedes and cherished the friendships she developed there over the years.

She was a devoted and selfless person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Scott Barton, Peyton, Parker, and Preston Montgomery, Drew and Will Daniel.

Honorary pallbearers are Ray Terry, Harley Tremlett, Jack Leigh, Greg Peeples, D. J. McMahon, Troy Free, and Daniel Stronge.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
