His love for his family was only exceeded by his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His love for God was evident through his deep knowledge of the Word, as well as his dedication to his Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church family, where he was an active member. He was musically gifted, and he enjoyed playing guitar at home for his family as well as contributing his stirring bass voice to the church choir. He had 35 successful years at Hunt Oil Company, where he maintained his friendships even after retirement. He lived a genuine and sincere life, reminiscent of his Pickens County roots where he was raised with his 6 brothers and sisters. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. A consistent part of his day was spent checking in on friends and loved ones. He will now be joyously reunited with the love of his life of 54 years, Anita, with whom he loved to travel, spend time with family, and enjoy each other's company.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Guy, Landon Guy, Noah Guy, Jacob Guy, Chase Boothe, Daniel Watson, Tyler Blair, and Wesley Bigham. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
