Born on December 8, 1955 in Greensboro, Alabama, Rhonda was the daughter of William and Myrtis McMillan. She graduated from Greensboro West High School in 1974 and carried with her a strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to her family throughout her life.
Rhonda was the heart of her family, a guiding light whose warmth and strength touched everyone she met. She was known for her deep love of Hallmark movies and all things Christmas, bringing joy and sparkle to every holiday season. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and magic; she cooked with instinct and heart, never needing a recipe to create meals that brought people together.
She found happiness in the simple pleasures, FaceTiming her grandchildren to stay close across distances, giving detailed instructions on gardening, canning, and homemade recipes, and offering advice to her daughters whether they asked for it or not. Her daughters were her pride and joy: Jodie (Daniel) Doddroe and Tabitha (Houston) House. Rhonda’s love for them was fierce and unconditional; she was their first call in times of celebration or need.
Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Felisha (Jake) Rogers, William Brunson, Clinton Smith, Katie Nguyen, Gabrielle Robinson, Taylor Smith, Branton Robinson, and Carson House; and six great-grandchildren, Griffyn, Nova, Archer, Scarlett, Addison, and Axton, who brought immense joy into her life.
Rhonda shared an unbreakable bond with Susan Riddle, her best sister of over 30 years.
To personally know Rhonda was to be welcomed with open arms. She never met a stranger, and her kindness radiated effortlessly and left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Whether through a warm smile or a heartfelt conversation, she made people feel seen and valued.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time, with close family and friends.
May Rhonda’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Her spirit lives on in every shared story, every holiday tradition continued in her honor, and every act of kindness inspired by the way she lived.
