Dr. Richard David Reynolds, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on January 7, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center. The Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev. Cathy Hoop officiating. Reception will follow immediately at the church.
He was preceded in death by his son, R. David Reynolds; and parents, Omar and Willie Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Louise H. Reynolds; daughter, Emily R. Warren (Jimmy); sons, Lee Mitchell (Mandy) of Charleston, S.C. and Victor Mitchell (Amy) of Saint Augustine, Fla.; brother, Louis Reynolds of Indio, Calif.; grandchildren, David Mitchell (Brittany) of Houston, Texas, Stephanie Mitchell, Richard Alexander Mitchell of Charleston, S.C., Veronica Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell of Saint Augustine, Fla., Dr. John Warren (Rachel) and Parker Warren; great-grandchildren, Alex Warren, Avery Warren and Girl Mitchell due in April. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born in Birmingham, Ala. and was raised in Clanton, Ala. He received his bachelor and master degrees at the University of Alabama and his PhD from Purdue University. After 34 years of service, he retired as Assistant Clinical Director at Bryce Hospital. After 20 years of service, he retired as a Major in the United States Army Reserve. His quest for knowledge was insatiable. He was fascinated by all in nature (God's green earth). He loved his family, God and friends. He was loved in return. Richard said "never stop learning."

Special appreciation to DCH Home Health staff, nursing staff C-ICU, 6th Floor staff at DCH Tuscaloosa, Drs. George Miller, James Geyer, Gary Ramdeen, Keith Debell, Wayne Taylor and Syed Aslam.
